I watch this guy on YouTube who makes extremely informative and sensible video on geopolitics.
But then he made a video different from his normal videos. He made a video about aliens, claiming that they exist and that the pentagon is hiding info about them, or something. And my opinion of him dropped slightly. I just don’t buy any of the alien stuff, I looked into it briefly decades ago.
Anyway, I realised that most people probably put moon deniers in that same category. And since I am most certainly a moon denier, many people would think I’m retarded, even if I am kind of a genius.
The thing with moon landing conspiracies, is that you have two bad options. One options appears to be extremely unlikely, while the other option is simply impossible. And so I say, “I’m pretty sure the moon landing was a hoax, I don’t think it was possible. I don’t even think its possible now.”
And then you say “Well then why didn’t Russia call them out? And how can so many people keep it all so secret?”
And then I say, “I don’t know man, I can take some pretty good guesses but ultimately I don’t know for sure.
But you know what? It doesn’t matter, because its NOT POSSIBLE TO SEND HUMANS TO THE MOON.
I don’t know if its an American thing, or just people being socially careful (as always). ChatGPT tells me that 5-10% of Americans are skeptical, while 25-50% of Europeans are skeptical. A lot of Americans are delusional, natural hubris from being the most powerful country in the world for the last 100+ years. There are Americans that exist right now, who unironically believe they will remain the strongest power for another 100 years. Lots of them, I think. When one of their aircraft carriers gets sunk by some country they consider inferior (every country), they will be absolutely flummoxed.
Artemis II is set to launch in April 2026, and it will be crewed, and “four astronauts will perform a flyby of the Moon and return to Earth, becoming the first crew to travel beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972.”
That is just not going to happen.
I'm about half convinced that the (original) moon landing was fake, but I also get annoyed that so many people think that ergo, the earth must be flat. One has nothing to do with the other -- there are plenty of reasons to fake space travel other than covering up a flat earth.
What do you think of the reflectors left on the moon and photos taken of the landing site by Asian countries? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-party_evidence_for_Apollo_Moon_landings
Why is it so impossible? We take big robots to Mars all the time, is it really so much harder with a human instead?
